About Cincinnati’s Local Fire Protection:
From a young age, Chris Dorn immersed himself in the world of fire sprinkler systems, working in his father’s business. Starting at the age of ten, he spent summers engaged in various tasks, from picking materials to fabricating pipes and organizing the shop. This hands-on experience allowed him to gain a unique perspective on the fire sprinkler industry, having worked in every staff position, both in the office and in the field, from the ground up.
In 1991, Chris transitioned to full-time work in the sprinkler industry, installing fully functional sprinkler systems. His passion for the field led him to in-depth studies of drafting and sprinkler design, earning him certification in sprinkler design from the National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET). With a Level IV in Sprinkler Design, Level II in Sprinkler Inspections and Testing, and Level I in Special Hazards Suppression Systems, Chris possesses a depth of knowledge that sets him apart. He is a certified sprinkler designer in Ohio and Kentucky and holds a State of Ohio license, allowing him to service, test, and repair various fire protection systems.
Chris’s technical expertise forms a solid foundation for estimating and selling a diverse range of sprinkler system types. He is dedicated to providing accurate estimates and strives to align costs with customer expectations and code requirements.
In 2006, Chris Dorn founded Dorn Fire Protection LLC (DFP), a small, regional, family-operated fire sprinkler company. DFP specializes in sprinkler design, installation, relocation, and inspection services for industrial, commercial, and residential customers. As a full-service design/build contractor, DFP guides customers from project inception to completion.
DFP’s recent projects include significant residential and multi-use renovations in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, spanning from the Vine Street Corridor to Market Square and Findlay Market. Chris and the Dorn Fire Protection team are committed to delivering high-quality fire sprinkler solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
